Total Return Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the Total Return app for iPhone and iPad ("the app"), published by Nagotek LLC ("we", "us", "our"), handles information. In short: your portfolio data stays on your device (and, if you choose, in your own iCloud), there is no account, and we do not collect personal information through the app.

Data stored on your device

The portfolios, positions, trades, prices, settings and backups you create are stored on your device. We do not receive, store or have access to them. Backups and exported files can also be seen in the Files app on your device. If you use your device's own backup service (such as iCloud device backup), that service is governed by its provider's privacy terms.

Backups in iCloud

If you turn on Copy Backups to iCloud in the app's Settings, each new backup is also saved in your own iCloud Drive, under your Apple Account, in the Total Return folder. Those copies can be seen in the app on your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account and in the Files app. Each backup includes the name and model of the device that made it, so you can tell your devices' backups apart. iCloud is provided by Apple and governed by Apple's terms and privacy policy; we do not receive, store or have access to your iCloud copies. You can remove a copy with Remove iCloud Copy in the app's Backups screen, delete it in Files > iCloud Drive > Total Return, or manage it in your device's iCloud storage settings. Turning the setting off stops new copies; copies already in iCloud stay until you remove them.

No account

The app does not ask you to create an account and does not ask for your name, email address or brokerage credentials.

Stock quotes from Tiingo

If you enter your own Tiingo API key, the app sends quote requests directly from your device to Tiingo (tiingo.com). Those requests contain your API key and the symbols you ask about and, like any internet request, show Tiingo your device's IP address. They are handled under Tiingo's own terms and privacy policy. We do not see these requests or your key. Your key is kept in your device's Keychain, never in the app's database or backups. Without a key, the app makes no quote requests.

Subscriptions

Subscriptions are purchased through Apple's App Store and processed by Apple. The app uses RevenueCat, a subscription management service, to check whether you have an active subscription. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user identifier, your App Store purchase information and basic technical details such as the app and iOS versions, as described in RevenueCat's privacy policy (https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy). We do not receive your payment details.

Emails you send

The app can open an email for you to send: to contact support, to email a backup, to export your trades, or to tell a friend about the app. Nothing is sent until you tap Send, and the message travels through the email service you use. A support email includes the app version, your device type and its iOS version to help us answer you; we use what you send us only to reply. Backups and exported trades go wherever you send them and are not encrypted, so treat them like any personal file.

Security

Your data is protected by your device's own security, such as its passcode. The app's optional PIN keeps others from opening the app's screens; it does not encrypt your data. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

Analytics, advertising and cookies

The app contains no advertising and no third-party analytics, and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. The nagotek.com website uses no cookies or tracking scripts.

Links to other websites

The app links to websites we do not operate, such as Tiingo, Apple and Facebook. What you do there is governed by their own privacy policies.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, for example in a support email, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will post the new version in the app and at https://nagotek.com/total-return-privacy.html with a new effective date. When you install a new version of the app, it asks you to agree to the terms and this policy again.
